Tango

TANGO – an in-progress short film currently in development, following the courtship between an American muscle car and an EV.

Some paintings done early on to just feel out the vibe. Learning which locations could make cool shots, scale, design, how the cars would impact their environment.

Some exploration for how the final renders could look. I had a lot of very different ideas, and while the style of Tango is more or less realistic, I wanted to provide options that pushed that boundary in terms of shading, surfacing and lighting.

Initial color direction for the Tango script. Inspirations given were vaporwave/retrowave, and classic car movies like Baby Driver and Bullitt.
